01 / ABOUT THE PLACE

About this place

Flat thick noodles coated in dried-sardine sauce make the niboshi aburasoba one of the first bowls to try at MENYA OTO Nerima. Accented by aromatic rock seaweed, it evolves with every bite as you add garlic, curry powder, tabletop vinegar, or chilli oil along the way. Free noodle upsizing is also available, making it a hearty choice whenever you need a filling meal.

If you prefer soup noodles, the shop offers its original rich niboshi ramen and a back-fat-laced niboshi ramen. The deep-hued broth delivers concentrated dried-sardine flavour without astringency, and ordering the special bowl or adding a seasoned egg makes it especially satisfying. You can round out the meal with extra noodles such as aedama or kaedama, or pair your bowl with sweet-savoury minced meat over rice or a chashu rice bowl.

A ginger chicken paitan ramen provides a distinct shift from the sardine-forward broths, showing off the kitchen's range. Located on the 1th floor of a building right outside Nerima Station, the counter-led shop stays open until 25:00 late at night, making it equally welcoming for a solo lunch or a late bowl on the way home.
